How to use the CSV to JSON converter
- Drop your CSV file in the box or paste the CSV text.
- Leave pretty print on for readable JSON, or turn it off for compact JSON.
- Click Convert, then download the .json file or copy the result.
What to know
- The first row must contain the column names. Each later row becomes one JSON object.
- Values stay as text so leading zeros in ZIP codes and IDs are not lost.
- Commas and line breaks inside quoted fields are handled correctly.
Questions
Can it handle large files?
Yes. The conversion runs on your own computer, so files with tens of thousands of rows work. The preview shows the first rows only.
Why are numbers in quotes?
Every value is kept as text so nothing is changed by accident, such as 00501 becoming 501. Most programs that read JSON can convert numbers when they need to.
